Uniaxial Geogrid

A Uniaxial Geogrid is a type of geosynthetic construction material, designed to have the higher mechanical strength properties of its material structure along it machine or longitudinal direction. Uniaxial Geogrids are primarily used for slope stabilization and retaining wall reinforcement.

Uniaxial Geogrids for Retaining Walls

Uniaxial Geogrids for Slope Reinforcement

At Midwest Construction Products, we offer a full line of Geogrids, covering a wide range of specifications and applications. From lightweight Geogrids for parking areas and small backyard retaining walls, to heavy weight Geogrids for high load, heavy use roads base reinforcement, to structural slope stabilization and MSE walls.

We have many styles and sizes in stock every day.

Made by weaving high strength polyester yarns or cut from extruded high strength polymer, the Uniaxial Geogrid is able to stretch under load as the structure it is reinforcing settles, thus maintaining structural integrity as time goes on. Uniaxial Geogrids are also made from materials which are inert to biological degradation, as well as any naturally occurring corrosive compounds in the soil.

As the name suggests, Uniaxial Geogrids are made to carry the load in the machine direction of the fabric. Always remember, when it comes to Uniaxial Geogrids, the strength is in the length!

Uniaxial Geogrids are used in situations where the bulk of the load bearing requirements are in one direction only. Applications such as structural slope stabilization and retaining wall reinforcement are typically where Uniaxial Geogrids are utilized.

We strive to provide the highest quality products and materials for whatever specification your project requires.

The Geogrids we stock and provide are manufactured to meet or exceed common requirements as specified by:

If you have questions about a specification or requirement, or are just unsure about what Geogrid you should use for your project, let us know. We have the resources and experience to help you find the best solution.

Block type Retaining Wall
When reinforcing a block retaining wall, a Uniaxial Geogrid will act as a supportive tie-back for the wall itself, as well as a mechanical containment of the backfill material.
MSE Type Retaining Wall
Using Geogrid to both contain and mechanically stabilize the aggregate or soil used to construct a retaining wall.
Slope Reinforcement
A Uniaxial Geogrid can be used to stabilize layers within a slope. The material of the geogrid locks the soil in place, often without the need for a retaining wall.
