Biaxial Geogrid

A Biaxial Geogrid type of geosynthetic construction material, designed to have the same mechanical strength properties in both directions. Biaxial Geogrids are used for base and slope stabilization and reinforcement.

  • High Strength & Durability
  • Bi-Directional Strength
  • Improvement in base stability & structural strength.
  • Base Excavation Reduction
  • Smaller Rock required
  • Inert to Commonly Encountered Chemicals in Soils

At Midwest Construction Products, we offer a full line of Geogrids, covering a wide range of specifications and applications. From lightweight Geogrids for parking areas and small backyard retaining walls, to heavy weight Geogrids for high load, heavy use roads base reinforcement, to structural slope stabilization and MSE walls.

We have many styles and sizes in stock every day.

Featured Products

Made from high strength materials such as polyester or polypropylene, a Biaxial Geogrid’s fibers are woven together or extruded into a stable, uniform network. This creates a uniform grid-like structure designed to lock soil in place.

Through the manufacturing process, a Biaxial Geogrid is created to have the same mechanical strength in both longitudinal and transverse directions. This Bi-Directional strength makes the Biaxial Geogrid an optimal solution for base stabilization.

Biaxial Geogrids are used to increase the load bearing capacity of the base materials your project depends on for its foundation. Biaxial Geogrids are also made from materials which are inert to biological degradation, as well as any naturally occurring corrosive compounds in the soil.

We strive to provide the highest quality products and materials for whatever specification your project requires.

The Geogrids we stock and provide are manufactured to meet or exceed common requirements as specified by:

If you have questions about a specification or requirement, or are just unsure about what Geogrid you should use for your project, let us know. We have the resources and experience to help you find the best solution.

Area Base Reinforcement
Biaxial Geogrids lock base soil and aggregate surface material together. By stabilizing and reinforcing the base layers, less excavation is required which means lower material costs.
Material Containment
The aggregate used as ballast in railroad construction, will become bound together, the Biaxial Geogrid locking the smaller sized rocks together as the are forced through the openings of the grid.
Road Base
As a base for unpaved roads, a Biaxial Geogrid will lock the gravel in place. This means less replacement costs for rock on high traffic roads.
